Swine Flu Disinfectant

The only disinfectant we have found to have been independently verified with research supporting its efficacy against H1N1 Influenza A Virus is 'Safe 4 Disinfectant'.

Safe4 Disinfectant has been tested by the Scientific Services Unit Veterinary Laboratories Agency (VLA). The VLA is an executive agency of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). Safe4 Disinfectant has been found to be effective against H1N1 (Swine Flu) at a dilution of 1:20. Safe Solutions requested this test as a result of the Defra Policy Statement of 6th May 2009.

'The H1N1 virus associated with the human cases of influenza in Mexico and other countries has the most characteristics (but not identical to so far) of strains of influenza viruses found in pigs.

This means that presently no disinfectant has been specifically approved as efficacious in the control of this H1N1 virus.' This test was specifically performed by the VLA during June 2009 to ascertain Safe4 Disinfectant’s efficacy against H1N1 and is not based on assumptions as used by some other disinfectant manufacturers in their claims.

So it is the only disinfectant we have been able to source which has been found to be effective against H1N1 virus ('Swine Flu'). The VLA concluded that "Disinfectant Safe 4 Disinfectant was non-toxic to the test system and demonstrated efficacy against H1N1 Influenza A Virus at all of the dilutions tested". Although the test does not constitute Defra approval for the use of the disinfectant against H1N1 Influenza A virus, it is the strongest supporting research we have found.
